Shepwood Burning Torch for Manderian

Sable/White. DNA CEA Tested Carrier; NCL tested Normal. Unaffected by CEA at 6weeks. Hips 3:8. KC/ISDS Registered. Microchipped.

Left: The boys. It's easy to tell them apart by the difference in their collars.

There is one with a big black spot - just like his daddy, another has a crescent shape on his shoulders, another has a tiny black dot on the right side, the other has a big black spot just behind his left ear which covers up almost half of his collar.

Right: The girls. Each one very different from her sisters.

The bigger of the 2 Sable girls is a slighter lighter colour and has a spot of colour on the top of her head. The darker Sable girl has no spot on her head and the other girl is Black/White/Tan with a very fetching 'neckerchief' collar.

This is a lovely litter, we are very pleased with what Megan and Dave have achieved together. Like their parents, this litter will be registered with the KC & the ISDS. Puppies will still have their eyes checked at the 6 week litter screening even though we know that none of the puppies will be affected by CEA. The puppies will be DNA tested (as soon as they are old enough to be either tattooed or microchipped) so that we - and their new owners - will know if they are Carriers like their mum, or Normal like their father.

Day 2. Each puppy has increased on it's birth weight and they continue to do well.

Their Kennel Club Registrations have arrived! they are registered as:

Manderian Independence, Manderian Liberty, Manderian Prudence, Manderian Carolina, Manderian Freedom,

Manderian Justice & Manderian Patriot.

We are so pleased with the way they are growing, the way they look, their conformation and characters, we have already decided that we will repeat this mating. This will only be the second time in the history of the Manderian kennel that this has happened.

4 weeks 4 days, puppies had their micro-chips implanted.

4 weeks 5 days, puppies had their bloods taken for the DNA test for CEA

6 weeks 3 days, Litter screening at the AHT, all puppies Unaffected by CEA (we knew that bit anyway, their sire is 'Normal') but there were no other conditions noted. They also had their BAER hearing tests - all passed with flying colours. Their dam had her hearing checked too, she passed.

7 weeks 2 days, Optigen results came in for their CEA DNA tests. See individual pages for results.

We also had their sire & dam (as well as all our other breeding dogs) DNA tested for NCL - both are 'Normal' so that makes this litter genetically 'Normal' (or Normal by parentage) for NCL. See individual pages for each dog.
