Manderian Summora Dayves

Davey is a Blue/White boy and lives in The Netherlands with Greet & Hans Abbink. Their affix is v.d. Schapenhoeve. Davey has his own page on the v. d. Schapenhoeve site too.
Greet told me that she was going to call her puppy 'Davey' (partly as a tribute to his grand-sire Dave) and asked if that could be in some way used in his KC registered name. So we thought about it for a while, scratched our heads, and thought some more. The result was 'Summora Dayves'.
The reasons behind this which may, or may not, be obvious at first glance are these: The theme for the litter he was born into was Country/Summer/Solstice. We added a little twist in the spelling of Summer - Summora - which if it is said quickly, closely resembles the phrase 'some more of'. Then comes the Dayves part. Day fits in nicely with the Summer part of the theme......then to grant Greet's request for the inclusion of Dave/Davey in the name, we added the 'ves'.
In the name Manderian Summora Dayves, we have:- Summer, Some more of, Day, Dave & Davey. That's why his name appears to be completely different from his litter-mates....but it's not that different really.
Davey went to his first breed show on the weekend of 27 - 28 January and did very well. Greet is delighted with him.
Continental Dog Breed Shows have a slightly different format to those in the UK. Judges at FCI Shows are required to write a critique at the same time that they are judging any particular dog. They usually have someone do the writing for them as they dictate the critique. In the UK the judges will only write a critique for the dogs they have awarded a prize card to, and then most often it is only 1st and 2nd places.
Davey is the second puppy that Greet & Hans Abbink have had from us, the first is Manderian Dream Maker 'Numa' who is a stunning Sable/White dog.
