The top picture was taken when Annie was just 20 days old. The lower 2 pictures were taken on May 1st '04, Annie has grown in both beauty and size since then!
May 16th '04 saw Annie at her first Midlands Border Collie Club Utility Day. Naturally she did not take part in any of the official activities on offer, but she did a brilliant job of rounding up and capturing the hearts of many people there!
In January 05' the Midlands Border Collie Club took the decision to 'test' the Optigen (USA) DNA test for CEA. Annie was chosen to be part of this test as she had been pronounced (falsely, as her DNA test now proves - as corroborated by research performed at the Animal Health Trust in the UK) as CEA Affected at the 6 week old litter screening - if you want to know who performed this litter screening and the subsequent retest Email Us . The samples sent to Optigen were from Annie, Her great grandmother Darian Silver Flute (who for many years had be thought to be a CEA Carrier) and an unrelated dog Whenway Royal Highlander (who has sired a sufficient number of litters to be assumed to be free of CEA). Each sample was meticulously checked, by an officer of the commitee, for correct identification. No pedigree or eye testing history was sent with these samples, so they were completely 'blind'. Each of the named dogs was declared as Normal i.e. carrying NO copies of the faulty gene and therefore will not pass on CEA to their offspring. See Annie's first litter.
Annie won't be having any more babies.
